Formation of the Legion
The Royal British Legion was formed in 1921 as a caring organisation for those in need from the Service and ex-Service community. The aims and objectives as defined in the Royal Charter are set in Article 3 which states:
" The objects for which the Legion is established and incorporated are:
(a)To promote the relief of need and to promote the education of all those who are eligible for Ordinary Membership of the Legion and their spouses, children and dependants;
(b )To relieve the need and preserve and protect the mental and emotional health of the women and children left by those who have fallen in our service;
(c )To relieve suffering, hardship and distress to spouses and dependants of those serving in Our Navy, Army and Air Forces on Regular, Reserve or Auxiliary engagements caused by the absence of those serving men and women;
(d)To promote and support schemes for the resettlement, rehabilitation, retraining and sheltered employment, of all those who are eligible for Ordinary Membership of the Legion and their
spouses, children and dependants."

The Newbold-on-Avon Branch - Number BR3313
The Branch meets in Newbold Rugby Football Club, Parkfield Road, Newbold-on-Avon, on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 8.00pm.
